Donovan wasn't a useless copy. He is also a singular talent. His music was very different in many ways. For one thing, he was from Glasgow and Dyland was from Hibbing and New York. Donovan did gain some early success though because the press painted him as "the English Dylan" even though he was from Scotland. I saw them both in person at Newport, same festival almost 50 years ago. With my eyes. Didn't see any hate.
There was some competition. Far from hate. Don't malign these men please.

I wish there was more footage like this, two like minded people jamming and sharing ideas. So mellow.

haha nice white washing mate. Please enlighten us to what you mean by "success" then. By this time he had fans world wide, toured the world, released 5 albums, made his transition to electric with bring it all back home and highway 61, basically leaving him with nothing left to prove and at the height of his career. But yea i am sorry those are far to many right brain facts. I would love to hear your wonderous and affible opinions on what success means.

I this the operative word here in this "opinion" is success. Many have there own opinions of what this actually is.The measure of success for some people , and I think , Dylan as well, might have a more personal meaning. You cannot measure success in numbers that's in the box or linear thinking.Thinking with only the right brain is half-assed, Assuming that nature of the brain. Now use your anger creatively in reply.

Eh, not quite... This footage is from 1965, with Dylan at the height of his fame, on a sold-out English tour, with his fifth album already out... lol. But Donovan was relatively new, so I'll give you that :P
