Donovan wasn't a useless copy. He is also a singular talent. His music was very different in many ways. For one thing, he was from Glasgow and Dyland was from Hibbing and New York. Donovan did gain some early success though because the press painted him as "the English Dylan" even though he was from Scotland. I saw them both in person at Newport, same festival almost 50 years ago. With my eyes. Didn't see any hate.
There was some competition. Far from hate. Don't malign these men please.

I wish there was more footage like this, two like minded people jamming and sharing ideas. So mellow.

Mainly just about Dylan's tour. He went on stage a lot with her on her tours but on his, completely different story. He comes across quite abrasive in the film which is bizarre seeing as I'm sure he had some control over what parts he wanted in or not. I guess it's just an addition to and an enhancement of his image. As a side note, I love the part with Joan Baez and Dylan in the car where she changes the lyrics to this song.

Two of my absolute favourite musicians.... One thing though, was there ever a moment in this period when Dylan wasn't on speed? lol

Donovan may have been influuinced by dylan because they were both relevant around the same time and dylun DID come first, but they both had the same major influunces
