I almost saw Moe Norman once.
My dad took me to the Canadian Open when it was held just outside Montreal in 1971. We had a great spot on the 1st tee. When Moe was announced, dad told me to make sure I watched his strange swing. But I was watching the announcer as he rattled off Moe's many accomplishments. By the time he finished, Moe had already hit his tee shot and was walking down the fairway. No warm up, nothing.

he absoulutely did it his way and he rocked!! It kills me to know that i will never meet him as he is my golf idol , unfortunately when i discovered him one and a half years ago the great man was playing golf in the clouds with hogan and snead. Thank god for all this brillant footage on the tube to keep his legend alive. Viva Moe

i have seen him say it in a video interview and it is also mentioned in his book "The Feeling of Greatness" the Moe Norman Story, which is a fantastic book that all Moe fans should read!
