I found Stephen Paulus' setting of this American hymn beautiful and moving. Its carol-like cadences are made the more affecting by Conspirare's sensitive and skillful singing here. I was taken by surprise emotionally; I could never sing this, for I'd choke and blubber :)
I took these pics in Deerfield and the Berkshires (Massachusetts), in Vermont, and in the Adirondacks and the Catskills (upstate New York) USA. Of course, as I head home, I shall be slightly heartbroken to be leaving this marvellous place and its people. New chapters in life open and old ones close, and it has ever been so.
Here are the words:
Tell me where is the road I can call my own,
That I left, that I lost, so long ago.
All these years I have wondered, oh when will I know,
There's a way, there's a road that will lead me home.
After wind, After rain, when the dark is done,
As I wake from a dream, in the gold of day,
Through the air there's a calling from far away,
There's a voice I can hear that will lead me home.
@halo3gd Thank you. For me, music is transcendent - its power unassailable; you get it too :) Best wishes.

I sing this song in Jazz Choir at my high school and we do it at the end of every year for the graduating seniors involved in Chorale and Jazz Choir.
I have to say, these pictures very well fit this song. I may not get into music professionally, but this song has made me appreciate music like never before. It will always make me feel grateful and alive to be who I decide to be.
There is no such beauty as where you belong. =..)

As a newcomer to AV, I was so impressed by the fact you used only 7 photos in the 4 minutes. Brilliant!! More please
