Amir Khan Marco Antonio Barrera weigh in Manchester 14 March 2009 Part 1

Amir Khan and Marco Antonio Barrera have both made the wait at the firs time of asking - after the Mexican had stripped naked.

The pair took to the scales at the Triangle Shopping Centre in Manchester ahead of their Coming of Age showdown, live on Sky Box Office on Saturday.

Khan looked calm and relaxed as he came in at 134lbs 8oz - half-a-pound inside the lightweight limit of 135lbs.

It was no so straightforward for Barrera who, first on the scales, registered three ounces over the limit.

The Mexican, who scaled at 140lbs for his last fight, then had to strip naked to come in dead on the limit.

Interestingly, the 35-year-old then guzzled down an isotonic drink immediately after stepping off the scales. He had also kept Khan and a vast Manchester crowd waiting for 10 minutes, forcing the weigh-in order to be switched.

But Khan remained unfussed throughout and was in confident mood.

"I feel good," he told Sky Sports News. "This is one fight, making the weight and the weight's been good - I'm half-a-pound under.

"People think I'm nervous or I'm scared, but I'm ready for this fight. I'm in the best shape I've ever been. I cannot wait for Saturday night."

First up in front of the Friday lunchtime shoppers was Roman Martinez, the mandatory challenger to WBO super-featherweight champion Nicky Cook.

The Puerto Rican looked ominous, if a little drawn, as he stripped to reveal broad shoulders and a long reach before weighing in one pound inside the limit at 129lbs.

Cook, tanned after a training camp in Tenerife, was all smiles as he followed suit and then nailed the super-featherweight limit of 130lbs for what will be only his second fight at this weight.

Enzo Maccarinelli meanwhile, almost stepped on the scales unnoticed as he weighed in at 14stones 3lbs 4oz for his cruiserweight clash with Ola Afolabi.
