@MadDistortion Youre so fucking stupid...i dont even play bass and i still think they're awesome. You're perception that bass is stupid because never have you heard any of the (probably also ignorant) people you hang out with say, "omg guys who play bass are awesome!" is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Just because you happened to have not heard someone say bass players a not hot nor cool, does not make them a mor than worthy contribution to any band. You're argument is horrible.

Have you ever tried to listen to a song without bass? It sounds about 10x crappier. Bass provides the rhythm of a song and is the backbone of the whole band. Many bands would be nothing without their bassists. You definitely can't say that Flea "stands around and makes fucking noise."
