Adam Yauch aka MCA of the Beastie Boys died earlier today from cancer, which was first diagnosed back in 2009.

The cancer was not "localized" in his lymph nodes but spread to his throat and espohagus. he was an extremely intelligent person and Im not talking about his muisic. We were 2 years apart in the same high school back in Jersey where I grew up as well.He sold an old drum set to buy his Roland "808" that was glued to him everywhere he went. He left home and had an abusive father which shortly after, stayed crashed with freinds in NYC.and stayed there. Ill end my post with that. I miss you Adam.

Read the above post, Before he saw his specailist, his general doctor (DO) sugarcoated the news to him. I know this first hand...well second hand but It came from a reliable source that I cannot disclose that information but for all intents and purposes, he was told the truth towards his last 6 weeks of his life.

Adam and I grew up in the same neighborhood in Jersey back in 1985. We went to the same High school together even though he was 2 years older than me. I was floored to hear the news 6 months before he made his interview to announce his condition to the public.He was hopeful over the cancer in his lymph nodes being "localized" as his doctors down played it and it was much more serious than was led to believe. Yauch was an amazing person,and not just his music, I shed many tears when I lost him.

I don't understand. I just watched Yauch Announcement and he said it was very treatable and basically that surgery and radiation would get rid of it. What happened?

RIP Adam Yauch, even though you were everything is despise about Americans: schoolmarmish, preening, PC-sissies.
