Do you have to remove the keyboard to get to the other side of the motherboard? I'm trying to add more RAM, but I don't want to destroy my machine in the process. Apparently the 4th RAM slot is "hidden" somewhere, and I would love to see how it is accessed.

@nickobellic123 Do you know if a western digital raptor made for laptops Height (maximum): 14.5mm
Width (maximum): 69.75mm will fit inside this laptop?

I wish you or another person could make a vid adding the full 16gb ram( therefor) using the hidden slot on asus g73sw 17.3". I have that model 8gbram. I want to upgrade to 16gb ram . I'm a very hesitant to try for that 4th hidden slot without any help ( video tutorial).

hey where do you get the metal housing for the hdd? because i got another hdd but i dont have that

@nickobellic123 yeah it will. but if you plan to expand to beyond 12gb's the fourth DIMM slot is on the otherside of the motherboard. when i got mine, i opened it up and moved on of the RAM sticks to the hidden DIMM slot. it makes it easier and faster if you plan to install some more at a later time
where is the 4th ram slot?

@ShoxModdedLobbies The 4th RAM slot is hidden underneath the bottom panels of the laptop. A lot of work is required to get to them...

Hi! Great video, will this method work on my G73SW too?
drixerr 8 months ago
@drixerr Yep, it sure will! The basic internal layout of the G73JH, G73JW and G73SW is pretty much identical apart from the different CPU and Graphics Card depending on the model. But the DIMM slots should be in the same location. Good luck and feel free to post a comment on my page if you have any more questions!

Hi Kovven, I don't recommend using Crucial Memory, but their website has a great tool to tell you what type of RAM your system needs. YouTube won't let me post links but go to the Crucial website and you'll see the 'Crucial Memory Advisor Tool' then choose Notebook and enter the model number, in this case ASUS G73JH. It'll give you everything you need to know! I recommend you purchase Corsair memory as they are regarded as the best. Hope this helps!
