I read that before he walked to gallows Bonhoeffer prayed with an exuberant confidence. The prison chaplain later said he'd never before seen a man approach his execution with such a spirit of triumph.

@DerangederX First of all you're using the phrase "straw-man" inappropriately you might want to look up what that actually means before you use it in your vocabulary.

Secondly I don't believe you want proof. You are ever seeing but never perceiving because you have let wickedness creep into your heart and you have declared yourself to be wise by your own standards. I walk in faith and not by sight because there is no pleasing God without faith.

@DerangederX Jesus Christ demonstrated through the power of God that He was The Messiah yet He never begged any one to believe it. Those who are seeking shall know Him and those who deny Him shall never be convinced.

I shall provide you with the truth and with that my task is done, it is now incumbent upon you to decide what you will do with that truth. Your reaction to the truth reveals your true nature and determines if you are fit for the fire or eternal life with your Creator.

@DerangederX All of creation displays God's glory, yet you say, "Where is God?" It is quite apparent your heart is harden towards the truth and there is no amount of evidence that will persuade you to repent of your sin so that God might forgive you.

So get all the fleeting enjoyment out of this existence as you possibly can because when it's all over you will be judged for your willful ignorance.

What you don't understand is survival isn't the ultimate good, eternal life with God is!

Makes absolutely no difference what anyone believes. It isn't a war of beliefs. It is a statement, a declaration, that one man, at one time, took a stand to affirm that good will triumph over evil. I've wrestled with Bonhoeffer........I do not believe traditionally, and I find him an exceptional man.

Michael, it would serve you well to read the book on this marvelous man. For you death is the end, but for those of us that embrace god and his son...it is only the beginning...as Bonhoeffer put it "Silence in the face of evil, is itself evil and god will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act." Dietrich Bonhoeffer. His kind and loving words should be embraced throughout the world. He was more than a pastor, a son, a brother, a fiance, he was what we needed.
