Inspired by,
I'm Still Seeing Breen
Machinima Video by Paul Marino

Total Duration worked on: 56 Hours

Filmed entirely in Half-Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2, this music video leads us through memorable events throughout the game represented by the G-Man.
Set to the song "Blow Me Away" by Breaking Benjamin), directed by me, Harrison Seo integrating footage captured within Half-Life 2 Episode 1,2 Trailers, with segments of the G-man lip-synced to the lead vocal track in memorable events. The video represents the my intent to experiment with Valve's Source SDK as well as to create an example of Source-based Machinima other than entry level G-Mod Videos. Other software used in making the video include FRAPs, Premiere Pro CS3, Microsoft Sound Recorder, Speech SDK, and Windows Movie Maker.

Spoiler Alert: Footage used in this video displays scenes that are only accessible if you advance far along in Half-Life 2 Episode 1, and 2. It is advised that you complete the game prior to viewing this video so that you do not ruin the experience of playing the game.

Special Thanks to: eagleslg, LOLmoe, and Paul Marino for the inspiration.

  • The word synch is a little off and the video is kinda amatureish but still an OK video

  • @TheJackinbud I'm not a pro that's why :-) this is my 2nd video.

  • that was wicked man, subscribed, faved and love it. though may i ask how you got the lip sync? ive been trying for so long and i can never seem to get it, is there a tool or download or something for that?

  • @xv37ryan Thanks, I used Source SDK with Phoneme Editor / Faceposer tool.

Good luck! I'm trying to make a 10 minute movie with 3dsmax now!

  • lol 0:00 - 0:40 were the only good parts (save for the last 5 sec of footage) skip to the good parts at 40, lol still thumbs up tho, good job

  • @the0real0Suraru are you serious.... 0-0:40 is like any other crappy video out there, just bunch of trailers, pre-recorded footage just put into music lol...

  • @hkseo100 Still not bad. I couldn't do this.

  • @hkseo100: nice to be ur 2nd video :o I really enjoid it :)

  • some scenes of the final are missing i suppose that u tried to show the skills of sync and at the end you ran out of ideas try to fill more with other scenes not only with the "character" singin that will give you more variety and less repetitive feeling, just an advice

  • at the beginning G-man was missing some expressions then it got better, the video is not that bad it has good scenes of fighting and some best HL moments, just some synch still is bad but at minimum so at next one try to keep it better. cheers.

  • I'm surprised by a lot of the comments on here. This is quite the nice video! Did you overwrite G-Man's ingame scenes to make him sing? I was surprised when his lips were actually synced in the Cinematic scenes xD *Thumbs Up*

  • @the0real0Suraru I'd like to see you do better.

  • @hkseo100 Very good video man. Amazed at how you made Gman move his mouth to the lyrics.

  • Very, very good. It is amazing that you found scenes from the actual Half Life 2 Cinimatics and made it look as if he were saying the words in the song,

And at moment's when It was G-man singing when NOT in the Cinimatics means he was tool edited, as far as I know it was you that did that and if so then bravo.

The only way it could have been better is if the whole song was made with scenes from Half life but I'm not forcing anybody, This is Absolutly Perfect.

  • 0:27 - 0:33 Just creeps me out a bit. Like G-Man, blinklessly, moves his head down a bit at a tilted angle... it's just -shuddershudder- stalker-ish, if you may. Though I just love the video mostly for that part, I mock him during that snip-it.

This video and I'm Still Seeing Breen is got to be the greatest Half Life Saga music videos ever!

  • "Blow Me Away" has got to be my favorite song Breaking Benjamin has wrote.
