In time. They caught up just in time. See, he died...you got that part, right? And when she realized WHEN and WHERE he died...she runs to try and save him..knowing that if he walks that path again, she'll lose him 4ever. So HE waits another 2 years and comes to her 2/14/08 at the Lake House. Up to that point, he was a ghost stuck in the past with a connection to the future. Hope that helps you better undrstand such a breathtaking love story. Oh to have someone love us like that, ay? Harmony!

This is a very intriguing movie. I have lived always in the here and now, but upon a string of family deaths within a 6 month period, I find myself delving into countless questions regarding eternity, destiny and communication through dreams. Turning many many stones on paths from the past and future, while getting some answers. It's been an positive adventure. Death is not the final ending of our lives by any stretch of the imagination. Those who loved us in this life, remain in spirit.

@WinterRenes That is okay...Time is really an illusion, so it is hard to understand anyway! Everything happens at the same time and sometimes, the veil can be thin in places...(: And then there is the whole Destiny thing as well...
