On my 3g Civic, turning it with no power steering is fairly easy. It's a little more effort, but you get much better road feel. Also, one thing that affects manual rack steering a lot is tire pressure. When I first got the car, it was a bitch to steer, cuz the tires had 20PSI, after I put the reccomended 44PSI in, it steered and handled great, steering was really light. As long as the car is moving, it's easy to steer with manual steering.

I dont know how he is able to handle it either. He used to do film deliveries in Los Angeles with that car too. Needless to say the packages got to their destination stupid fast.
