yeah, it's nice, but where is the opera?

To Marcyhead. I beleive the soprano was (not sure of the spelling) Clair Alexander. She sang with Leberace (I had the single) on the piano, on exactly this music. I still have a copy of that record, but on a 4 tracs cassette. If ever i can manage to put it on You tube I'll please myself and maybe also yourself. To me, this piece in the most beautifull Ave Maria ever.

This was one of his biggest recording. Lee is missed, like most of the great stars of the past.

Thank you, keyboardmagic! It's nice to finally have a name to match to that stunningly beautiful voice.
Most remembered for his extravagant costumes and trademark candelabra placed on the lids of his flashy pianos, Liberace was loved by his audiences for his music talent and unique showmanship. He was born as Wladziu Valentino Liberace on May 16, 1919 into a musical family in Wisconsin. Even death will not blow out Liberace’s candelabra. He is burned into our memory.

As a kid in the 50's we had a Victrola the size of a small suitcase and a few albums. One was Liberace's Christmas album which I played more than all the others put together. And the song I played most was this one, my all-time favorite version of Ave Maria.
