Street Fighter Alpha Animation is the second animated feature film based on the Street Fighter series of Video Games, although it was originally released as a two part OVA in Japan called Street Fighter Zero Animation.

While Street Fighter II The Animated Movie focused more on hard hitting action and violence, Alpha took a different direction by concentrating on human characters, emotions and a much more philosophical yet subtle message, while keeping the martial arts and pulse-pounding action scenes.

This amazing original soundtrack composed by the talented Hayato Matsuo completely connects with that train of thought, as it replaced SFII's heavy metal with amazing orchestration and melodic themes.

Performed by Hayato Hatsuo himself and the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, this musical score has become incredibly rare, getting a release in Japan only on the 24th of May, 2000, published by Polygram under the name ストリートファイターZERO THE ANIMATION. It's one disc containing the entire soundtrack: 42 minutes and 45 seconds of true musical beauty.

You would never guess that a composition of this caliber would belong to an animation based on a fighting video game, but it is the truth and it's one of my all time personal favorite film scores.

Street Fighter Alpha Animation is itself a fantastic Anime.

Animeshowcase.com called it "Amazing"

Gamer's Republic rated it "*****"

Wizard's Magazine considers it "A Must See"

Produced by Manga Entertainment, in association with Capcom Co., LTD., this action-packed martial arts anime feature continues the adventures of the popular Ken, Ryu and Chun Li characters while introducing some charismatic new ones from the game. Directed by Dragonball veteran Shigeyasu Yamauchi who also contributed the extraordinary background art, Street Fighter Alpha is one of the best-received original video animations ever created.

Street Fighter Alpha is but a piece of the fantastic animated world of Street Fighter brought to you by Manga Entertainment. Make sure you check out other titles like Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Street Fighter II V, and Street Fighter Alpha Generations.

  • Agreed, I've watched this movie SO many times, I actually memorized all the scenes and verses.

I even used to sleep with this movie playing in the background haha. The music is that great..

By any chance, would you mind please uploading at least just the first full song that played in this video please? I've been searching for sooo long for their OST's so I can buy it or anything. It'd be greatly appreciated.

& yes, this movie is underrated, it deserves MUCH more credit!

  • ..this movie was and is one of the most incredible things ive ever seen humans create. all the little scuttling nay nayers who keep beighing out things like ''the fight scenes wee bluh bluh'', and ''this and that duh duh'' never could come up with something like star wars or street fighter to save their lives. pititful. but at least it makes those clowns funnier. anyway, awsome movie beyond words score/art/effort all of that, awsome that they keep trying to make more SF movies as well.

  • Sakura: Why does he fight? Why? You keep fighting... To find that answer.

  • Thanks for the soundtrack.... Great description and a sense of affection has been put into making this vid. Thanks once again....

  • The true warrior enters the arena with all of his powers at the ready.

  • That main theme...so freaking inspiring, man. Gotta admit that the movie was pretty meh, but that theme has stuck with me for going on two years now.

You don't think you could message me the OST, could you? :)

  • The movie was okay, the fight scenes should have been done much better, but the film score...IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL OF AWESOMENESS IN ITSELF! My favorite part is the slow movement in the piece(beginning at 3:40)!

  • What's name of the music at 03:40

  • What is the first song called??????????????

  • @Sener Thank you so much, and I messaged you.
