Let me give a history lesson, the Siege of Rouen 1418-19 the English with Irish kerns were laying siege to the French town of Rouen. After the Siege the Irish had collected 'war trophies' and the trophies were severed heads of dead soldiers and even dead babies, although the siege had been bloody the English army were disgusted by the Irish kerns behaviour.
