I'm only 15 miles from Chicago, there are still a few local low powered analog stations going yet, and its May 4, 2010 when this was recorded!

  • @craig1974 I'm a zenith fan as well, could you pickup a nice Roundie for a Aussie?

  • Now that's a pretty set!

  • more CRT videos please!!!

  • @ihatespam1977 That's ridiculous- isn't the FCC still supposed to at least PRETEND that the airwaves are supposed to 'serve the public interest'? Commercial TV has been a joke for the past 15 years, and I won't miss them at all if they go exclusively to cable, but I'd hope some non-profit community stations would go on the air then (and I'm NOT talking about PBS- most of those stations are a joke now too!)

  • Are any of those low-power stations in stereo? I'll never be able to tell if the analog stereo decoder in my new TV works since the only LP stations here are mono. VHF is totally gone now too- we had a Class-A station on 8 for a while but they just went digital last month. STILL don't know what's been done with the unused signals since the full-power analogs went off!

My parents had that same TV cart, and a Zenith Chromacolor with same tube but different controls and design. It died in '80.

  • On a really, really clear day, you may get some Canadian stations from Northern Ontario. Canada doesn't make the switch until August, 2011.

  • Congrats on the new house! I look forward to seeing more videos.

  • I picked up a set just like that at the dump for Mark, or Zenithfan1 lol.

  • I love those old TVs and old TV Shows! That is a great looking old set. I would love to have some of the old sets I junked for parts or threw away. I didn't have the space to keep them, but wish I had made space now.. Thanks for all your great videos!

  • Your new house is pretty cool. Congratulations. It must have taken you a long time to move your TV collection from your old house to your new one. I wish there were still analog stations in Rhode Island. All of them switched to digital.
