The original cartoon made in 1932.
Some of the Betty cartoons showed adult themes, and sexual harassment is clear in this one. Other Betty Boop cartoons were banned at the time for allegedly showing drug-abuse and racism.
Many quite clearly have erotic undertones. Betty talking of her 'Boop- Oop-a-Doop' being taken away may have a double meaning.
Betty's image is still used today, with dolls, posters and figurines still for sale.
Betty's voice here is provided by Mae Questel. Max Fleischer, the cartoonist, always said that Betty is 17 years old.
