I originally built an old dell up with a 250watt power supply, 2 gigs of pc3200 and a pentium 4 2.4gh. It's also got a radeon 9000 i think with svideo out, vga and dvi so it was pretty perfect for running it to the screen using s-video.

The monitor was under 50 bucks online. It's 10 inches and is max resolution is 800x600 and the monitor requires 12 volts of power and some grounding.

I'll upload more videos later about the install.

I was just testing out my compnants that i wanted to use for the carputer and im using two computers to check for any problems i might run into with the hardware.

It's got a Soundblaster Audigy 2, gigabit ethernet, wireless-n, and soon i'll hook up my 3g wireless to the car computer so everywhere i go i'll have the internet. The computer can take over the functions of a GPS, radio, dvd player, music player, picture viewer, gaming consoles, etc... You can do a lot with this setup. I'm thinking of doing something like this with my 10' cadilac cts4 but instead of using metal brackets to mount it to a map box ontop the dash, i'll maybe do some custom work to make it fit in the dashboard once we I the car outside and its off lease.
