It's been sitting on VHS for a long time. I did the best I could with a re-edit. I don't have the raw footage anymore.
This interview was taken at Timecon sci-fi con in San Jose CA. Richard was in the TV series "War of the Worlds". Richard was also in the movie "Predator".

His personality is awesome. He is also cute but without this hat and glasses. I watched Predator at first time when I was 8, I already knew Arnold Schwarzenegger but didn't know other actors. I noticed the character named Poncho. I said "who is this guy?" At the end of the movie I learned his name. When I got older like 15 I watched this movie again and tried to find any information about this actor. Now I know something about him. Unfortunately he didn't become too famous.

Would have been awesome in more sci-fi roles as a captain/leader!! Fkn hollywood ignored him in a really tough time for Latin/native actors!! :( shame!!

If this is the only interview piece for that great show, War of the Worlds, and in particular for Richard Chaves, then that's worth it. Would have liked to hear from the others on the show however.

And you're right, such a great and underrated actor. By the way, I only just realised that, he did get a bit knocked about in Predator, and maybe he didn't die at the end! Poor guy is probably out there now with a big headache wondering what happened to Dutch!

It blows me away that some asshole was stalking this man and his family. People are just so fucked up. You usually hear about some female model getting stalked by an obsessed male. Excellent video missed out on my chance of meeting him at the collector mania fair in the uk.  Shame he is so un used as an actor if they had kept him in war of the worlds it may have lasted more than two seasons thanks for posting
