he has a damn good point, lave your religion a home and in the church/mosque/synagogue/ wherever you worship. In the UK doctors are allowed to opt out of procedures if they obect on religious grounds. it's all wrong.

i wonder if japanese have this same discusion about buddhism. "you need buddha in your life". my guess is no. western monotheism is uniqe in the sence that its one of the few religions witch does not want to learn to respect other belives.

Athiests in foxholes ha. The religious are the ones who are truely in the foxhole. If a religious person was diagnosed with brain cancer chances are they would be praying to God to save them, rather than thanking him for bringing them closer to heaven

I can't tell if you are playing a game or not.
I'm retired military and very much an atheist. Kidneys removed and received a transplant. There will always end up being a clergyperson entering your room unsolicited. I just shrug at them and say, "I'm an atheist." The results vary. They just make their rounds.
You seem so sad I want to come over and give you a hug. I love to make nurses and doctors laugh.
These people just have empathy and usually mean well. There we go, a great smile.

hey rkzenrage, ask your doctor if you can try smoking pot for the pain. I have chronic back pain and it does wonders plus you get to be high!

I can't. It helps a lot but my Dr. has to test me or he can't serve me.

My father was in the hospital on and off for 5 years and was sick for 15 years, you are right they do preach. My father on at least 10 different times actually died and they brought him back to life. Each time they would say things like, "God must have a plan for him." Each time I said, "Yea to put him through as much pain as possible." Finally he signed a form that said they couldn't take extreme acts to save him. He died and his pain was finally relieved and I said, "It was dads will."

I am sorry he had to go through that, I too have a living will. I just wish we could have a similar contract with the hospital stating that we don't want to be preached to.
