Revenge Is Sweeter Chapter 3

okay, first HOW ADORABLE does he look in those glasses?!?! :]

We went in three different stores before finding the perfect outfit: a black spaghetti strapped v-neck shirt/dress that barely covered my butt, and a pair of bright red pumps. My hair was to be curled and piled on top of my head, with a silver bow clip holding it in place. I put the whole thing together when we got home, and stepped in front of the mirror. Wow, did I look like a whore. Perfect. Joe can’t help but fall for me when he sees me in this. The sound of someone knocking interrupted my thoughts. Max was sitting at the kitchen table with Aly when I walked into the room. His mouth dropped(I think half in shock and half in delight) when he saw me.
“You life?” I asked, striking a suggestive pose.
“Aqua, stop. I think he’s drooling.” Aly giggled.
Max’s face turned a bright shade of red. “Okay, so what’s this plan of yours? And why were you concerned about legal matters?”
“okay, well, when I was sixteen, I started to go out with this guy, Joseph. We dated for two years, then I found out he had another girlfriend, and had lied the entire second year of our relationship.” I began giving Max the background details, “well, Joe’s getting married, to that girl, and now that I’m stable enough to inflict pain on someone else, it’s time to get him back. So here’s the plan. Joe is planning on having the wedding here, in Charlotte, so we’ll watch the news to see when he shows up and starts wandering the town. Somehow, I’m not sure how yet, but we’ll get him to see me in this.” I stood and spun around on my toe. “My goal is to hang out with him while he’s here, make him fall for me again, then watch him fall. We bought the camera to catch it all, then we’ll leak it to the internet and Joe’s life will be ruined.”
“So where does the legal pa- wait. Are we talking about Joe Jonas? From the Jonas Brothers? You’re his ex, Aqua Cullen. That scandal was all over the news. I don’t know why I didn’t recognize you before.”
I cringed, “So you understand all the media/legal stuff now?”
“yeah, it makes a hell of a lot more sense now. But it’s a little harsh don’t you think?”
“Max, have you ever heard the expression ‘you can’t mend a broken heart’?”
“Yeah…”
“Well it’s true. That boy killed me inside. And he doesn’t deserve to be happy. He needs to know what it’s like to suffer.”
“Do you still love him?”
“No.”
“Oh, okay. Well then I better go. My roommate and I are going out with some friends tonight.”
“Wait!” I called as Max opened the door to leave. “Are you in, or is it too much for you to handle.”
“I’m not sure what much of a help I’ll be, but yeah, I’m in. I’ll stop by tomorrow.”
“Sounds great. Thanks Max.” I smiled.
“Bye Max!” Aly called.
“Bye guys.”

The door slammed shut behind him and I returned to Aly in the kitchen, pulling the tags off my dress as I went.
“You think this will work?” Aly asked when I had returned.
“Yeah, unless Joe has completely changed and became the amazing guy hat every girl dreams of having for a boyfriend.”
“Likeliness of that happening?”
“Slim to none.”
Aly smiled. “Just be careful Aqua. He ruined your life once, and I’m all for ruining his, but us ending up in jail and you being broken hearted again I’m not all that fond of.”
“Don’t worry. We’ll play him perfectly. And if anyone gets sent to jail, it’s me. I wanted this and thought of it.”
“Nuh-uh. You go, so do I.”
“But-“
“No, no buts. We’re best friends and God knows how long we’ll last in jail, but we’ll last together.”
I smiled. “Have I ever told you how much I love having you for a best friend?”
She laughed “Yeah, and you better mean every bit of it after all this.” Aly pushed her chair back, gave me a quick hug and disappeared into her bedroom. Probably to take a nap, we were both up really early this morning. I threw the tags in the trash and went into my room. I pulled my black dress over my head and replaced it with an oversized t-shirt and orange leggings. I returned to the kitchen and pulled out a sticky note from the top corner drawer. On it, I wrote Aly a note.
“I went to the store. We need food and as good as take-out every night this week sounds….. I have my phone. Text if you want anything. Xoxo Aqua”
