CSX ST. PETERSBURG, FL Largo Switcher 0701

Caught the 0701 working the St. Pete Times Spur today! Was on my way to Home Depot when I spotted the train parked just outside the Time's Plant- So I decided to hang around....2 hours later.... (and it was hot out today) the crew must have gone to eat because they were no where to be found- There's Mazzaro's Italian Deli across the street from where they were parked so maybe they went there??? It pays to sit and wait- because I was already to leave when they came rolling around the corner. The 1st shot is along 22 ND Ave. North. Then went behind the carpet store right off of 28th Street North. Then drove down to 13Th Ave. No. Where they go right by Carroll's building supply- which also gets serviced by CSX! Then the last shot is back at 22ND Ave. No. right in front of Home Depot. I waited another hour and didn't leave so I decided to meet them at Pinellas Park... That will be added shortly. The power is: CSX # 4302 GP39-2 & CSX # 2617 GP38-2 (ex- L&N) This train is hard to catch because on Tuesday around the same time they werent there... Oh the train ID is: CSX 0701-20 Have fun & stay cool! Especially waiting for that one train you want to catch.....*NOTE* the same train will be in the Pinellas Park Vid. Later ~

Can't understand why they replaced all that rail and ties and then didn't re-ballast the Times spur. It really needs it....

@ewlanctot I believe it will be ballasted in july??? From what I heard... It sure does need it youre right!

Just found this spot today! Didnt know about the side streets,i jus saw a reefer offf 34 st n.

Anyother places to bench at in this aera? We jus moved down here for grad school.
