Very beautiful. First time I heard such an instrument solo in such a way. I like it very much since it seems to carry so much of a 'normal' man's struggle in life. I tend to prefer that in front of heroic sounds, as this would fit much more the time we live in.

Yourum Varol- is he Moroccan? I guess I can look it up at google. I have a friend David Arayan who can make a Kamancha sound like this! He is unbelieveable.

What is this instrument called in English? Is it a strung tanbour? And is this the very same instrument as a plucked tanbour, meaning one only needs a bow to play it?

yes sir we calle it yayli (sad, soapy) tanbur!
it is a higher version of a classic Kemençe!
