You know, people bash Kurt for being "too dominant" in the modern jazz scene, and say he has too much influence on young cats, but I mean... come on. There's a reason for that. And this video is a fantastic example. Kurt Rosenwinkel is a one in a billion human being.

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I've been looking for another instance of Kurt playing that opening riff for FOREVER. There was a really tiny snippet for a while on another video with his old quintet (Ballard, Turner, Aaron, Martin) but nothing extended like that. Sweet!
