the main reason were not using clean energy sources is because of our economic system regardless of what anybody tells you theirs an energy abundance on this planet sun,wind,tidal/wave and geothermal (best one by far) theirs no good reason anymore to be using oil and coal everyone watch zeitgeist moving forward on youtube the time we have to change is literally running out.

Think of it like this:

If you have a glass of water and ice filled up to the brim, some ice will be above the brim of the glass. As the ice above the surface melts, the only place it can go is into the glass,which is already full, so it will poor over the edge of the glass instead.

It's slightly more complicated (believe it or not, ice actually has greater volume than water does), but that's the general principle.
