RO on WINE

Running RO on WINE (this should work for most servers but I used AnimusRO). See forum post for troubleshooting help.

Do you have working function keys? I can't get mine to work, I've read it's an issue with GNOME.

@jrwminime I did but I haven't played in a long time and I don't even have a setup file atm. If your keyboard has a "F Lock" key (or something like that) then press that to turn off the functions and to actually be able to use F1, F2, etc. On my keyboard I had this issue and it was happening because of the F lock. You may also want to check out the WINE website and do some intense googling. If it is an issue with gnome then try XFCE, its not too bad especially if you get a nice theme.

@lugee564 well, its not just the function keys, it's also the insert key for sitting and combos like alt+s for skills. Sorry, I should've mentioned that before lol; btw thanks for answering, I've tried a few other sites and got negative feedback

@jrwminime no problem. Like I said, try XFCE or KDE. Maybe that will fix the problem.

@lugee564 I tried XFCE and it didn't work; I DID get it to work though, turns out it was because I was using 1.2 and needed to upgrade to 1.3; funny part is though is when I first started, I HAD 1.3 and it wouldn't even load. I downgraded to 1.2 and used this video to get the game to load.

@lugee564 I think the reason 1.3 didn't work originally was because I was JUST getting into linux, I might have just not installed a vital package alongside it; when I re-installed 1.3 from 1.2, I completely uninstalled 1.2, then readded the wine ppa to the package manger, then from winehq.org, clicked the link for 1.3 and installed it fresh. As for the F-keys, turning off the function button like you suggested worked. The ALT+key combos just worked fine too, don't know how that was fixed. lol

Use the terminal choices because then it will tell you the errors.
