@cassinko May I just say in her defense JHudson may not have owned that song, and that is debaitable, more wholly she embodied the character. No one can live up to Jholiday not even she these days. But but that wasnt what Jhudson was supposed to do she was to make that role real. And in my oppinion that was spot on. And her talents did not lesson the experience. But yea I loved the holiday version more. Although hudson own "change" which up till the movie was tired last minute song.

would be something else to have been a fly on the wall when Di, Flo and Mary were going at each other back in the good old days... and for the record no one will even come close to Miss Holiday signing this song - she owns it lock stock and barrel

JHudson sang.. but she hasn't gotten me like JHolliday. this is just about the most powerful piece of singing I have seen in a musical... I saw it on broadway and everything after.. It still holds as the ultimate.

HOW GREAT IS SHE!!!! tHAT WAS BY FARRRRRRRRRRRR THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE!
Don't forget that the song has it's origin in the heart of a gay man, Tom Eyen. Presumably, it was his love for a man and the pain of rejection that inspired this.
Jennifer brings her heart to the performance.
Anyone who can think that same-sex relationships are not equal to opposite-sex relationships is lying to themselves.
