Gas Price Song: Ending the Tax Breaks on Oil Companies

With gas prices high, oil companies are making record profits. How to stop this? End the tax breaks on oil companies. This would essentially lower gas prices, and if not, would at least profit our struggling economy. Here's some facts:

-Gas prices have risen 36 percent in the last year
-Energy sector analysts say prices won't rise the 28% needed to hit five dollars, yet this is still a major problem
-This recent recession was the greatest since the Great Deppression
-The price of oil barrel prices was $85 in February and rose all the way to $115 in April
-As of May (2011) the average price of gas was $3.91
-Exxon mobil gained 11 billion in profits for the first quarter this year- that's 119 million a day
-Here is a quote from "Eyeing soaring pump prices, Obama keeps up push to end tax breaks for oil and gas companies"

"These tax giveaways aren't right," Obama said in hi weekly radio and Internet address. "They aren't smart. And we need to end them."

-These tax breaks amount in 4 billion per year, and if ended, Obama would spend the money on cleaner energy resources
