The thing underneath is a cheap 10 cm stainless steel ring I found in a shop, to raise it above the ground a bit. I cut a hole in it to get air in trough the bottom, to the holes in the Ikea thing.

It's in stainless steel, but it does get a little rust and miscoloring...but so far it has lasted half a year of usage about 10 times so far.
