Prop 8 - A Dark Legacy of Hate (no on 8, end the hate)

This is a message regarding Prop 8's ban on gay marriage in California. I urge all voters to vote and think strongly about how they will vote on Nov.4, 2008.

Prop 8 will revive an old legacy. Don't be fooled by it.

I am most shocked when people of minorities or groups that understand what it's like to be victimized by discrimination and oppression, happen to support Prop 8. It's most selfish and tragic, that we fight for our own rights and equality for ourselves, but we turn around and destroy the rights of others.

Prop 8 is pure discrimination.

You don't have to be Christian to get married and many parts of the world marry NOT under God, but instead are unions between families. The government has to "recognize" marriage because of property rights and clerical reasons, including legal rights to a loved one. That's all.

So in light of separation from Church and State, and that marriage isn't always under God, the government's recognition of marriage should not be by the Church's standards, but instead, on the standard of two people wanting to unionize together.

If you pass prop 8, you inflict damage and suffering on others. Gay couples, in emergencies, cannot ride in an ambulance together, cannot have a say for a sick and dying loved one, cannot manage the properties of a deceased loved one, etc etc.

Imagine yourself, if you were unable to assist someone you loved, just because the law prohibited it... all because of discrimination and selfishness. Prop 8 is wrong.

If we impose our religious beliefs on government, and we destroy the civil rights of others or harm others just because they are different, then we are only asking for a puritan society. There would be no diversity. It promotes the destruction of freedom of religion. This country was founded with the separation of church and state. It's called DEMOCRACY... it's what the colonists fled England FOR. And now our Christian neighbors that fuel this God-driven infringement of civil liberties, endangers the future of civil liberties.

Prop 8 puts us back by decades! It brings back the fundamental ideology of racism, discrimination, and hate. It brings us back to the Hitler fundamentals, the slavery ideology, the segregation and apartheid era, the holy wars era, the crusaders era, and all other times of discrimination.

FIGHT DISCRIMINATION. BE FAIR. BE KIND. DIVERSITY IS NORMALITY. END THE HATE AND VOTE NO ON 8.

If you're fine with a black president but not ok with equal rights for gays, you can still be a biggot. Biggots don't have to hate every minority group or even any minority group. Biggotry can involve intolerance of opinions too.

in addition, pedo activity IS a fetish, whereas homosexuality is sexual orientation and not a fetish because psychologists finally realized that gays don't just try it out and have some epiphany of sexual desire. Homosexuality is primarily that gays are naturally attracted, sexually AND EMOTIONALLY (love) for the same sex. You aren't born a pedo. I don't even have to argue with my own argument, all I have to do is look into the flaws of yours, since I specialize in analytics & teach it.

I'm not even defending my own arguments on the basis of my own bias, but actually on the core logic and fundamentals itself, as is the way I evaluate another's rebuttal. There are enormous differences between men and women, but there are no differences between people of different races. Men and women are inherently different, but blacks and whites (and yellows and browns) are inherently the same. Therefore, any imposed separation by race can never be moral or even rational; on the other hand, separation by sex can be both morally desirable and rational. Separate bathrooms for men and women is moral and rational; separate bathrooms for blacks and whites is not.
