  • When I was 14 I discovered Joy Division in 2006. I hated this kind of music at the time, but I was captivated by them. I ended up becoming a huge fan. It introduced me to better music instead of what I was watching on MTV. Joy Division left me paralyzed and looking at life a new way in 8th grade. I wouldn't have grown up to be the person I am if I have never discovered them.

  • Every time I listen to this song, it feels like Ian is not just singing a song, but singing a requiem for himself.

  • these are the actual lyrics- listen to the song and read the lyrics.

  • This is why the dead unnerve me

Oh, to state the same old story

This is why the wheels are turning

Turn away and turn them towards this time

All she asks the strength to hold me

Then again, we would leave her

Traveled fast, but now I'm stopping

Think again and turn them toward this time

  • I'll break them all, no mercy shown

Heaven knows, it's got to get better

Watching her, these things she said

The times she cried, too frail to wake this time

  • I'll break them all, no mercy shown

Heaven knows, it's got to be better

    Avenues, all lined with trees

Picture me, and then you start watching

    Watching forever...

    Watching forever...

  • Do it again, let it be so

Now come with me, let it be so

Let it be so, always be so...

  • @slangshotstudios good job sounds right

  • @TheKathleenR good for you! if they don't know then you know they're nobody you need to know but if you can convert them into new fans don't hesitate!

  • New order exemplified the 80's, Joy Division was the transition in the late 70's from Punk to what became Post-punk, then New Wave. Was a good time for music. English bands from that era on through to the late 80's and 90's provided a much needed soundtrack to many people's lives, and still do. Shows how relevant the music was to still find new fans after 30 years.

    Joy Division = 1976 - 1980

    New Order = 1980 - Present

  • @Miel01Henderson Yeh. I love Joy Division <3 . 80's :)

  • @GamesFrontiers I think the drumming on 'Passover' at Birmingham Uni (on Still) goes a bit wrong for a second, mid-way through. But apart from that I can't think of any other slip-ups.
