Game music you aren't sick of - Radiant Silvergun (stage 3 - Return)

Here is the third stage theme from the game Radiant Silvergun! a Shmup gem, the soundtrack was composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (of Final Fantasy Tactics and Ogre Battle fame), this particular piece was arranged by dBu music. album 2面に進めませんっ！！

Return isn't Stage 1. The stage numbering in the game is strange... you first play Stage 3, then choose either Stage 2 or Stage 4, then play 5, 6, and then finally 1.

Oh really? was it the same in the arcade as well? I cant read japanese so I don't really know how the story went.

Yeah, that's actually specifically how it went in the arcade. On the home version, you can play either console or arcade mode. Arcade goes like that, console goes 3, 2, 4, 5, 6, 1 and has some extra parts added to some stages. In particular, stage 5 is a lot longer, and I think 6 is quite a bit longer as well.

Anyway, Return is stage 3, so it's the first stage you play, but not stage 1. This arrangement is interesting, sounds a little darker than the versions from the official soundtrack.
