Linger Lodge - BBQ, Karaoke, Splendid Scenery

This Bradenton, Florida, institution has been described as one of the weirdest restaurants in the country. My wife and I love it, and we've met more than a few excellent people who live in the surrounding trailer park and RV camp. Lovely spot on the Braden River, too, with just enough alligators to keep tourists and other annoyances down to a tolerable level.Sadly, Linger Lodge has recently fallen into the hands of some local Greeds who are more famous for despoiling waterfront than for saving it. They claim they're going to leave the place as it is, maybe even fix it up a bit. But I expect that one day they will yield to their baser instincts and replace the delightful Linger Lodge with ugly high-rise condom(inium)s or blah tract houses. Ah, well.

What a delightful rendition of this melody.

Upon reading the blurb at the right; one obtains the image of a gated community with all the exculusive rights that instaur cult status to adherents.

Sounds similar to what is being planned for the site when the owners sell-up.
