  • Typical American. Amazing how they haven't changed in more than a century.

  • @Knoss The result was "not violence" because of the work of the RCMP. The Heritage Minutes stories are told in 60 seconds. So yes, the moment depicted here may not be a depiction of a particular documented incident, but it represents the greater work of the RCMP during the gold rush. Your ignorance claim is itself ignorant.

  • It is factual that the North West Mounted Police patrolled the border with the US during the gold rush to keep the criminal element out of Dawson City and maintain law and order in the area. They even needed a detachment of the military to help them keep Dawson safe, so before you go all "USA" in this video look up the Yukon Field Force and Soapy Smith before you brand this video propaganda. Compare the relative law and order of Dawson City with that of Skagway, Alaska at the time.

  • @Knoss Apparently, this was an actual incident between Steele and an American. While most of the dialogue was made-up, apparently the line, "In that case I'll be lenient..." was word-for-word in the actual incident.

  • @mrtyles False. I've been living in Canada for 15 years now.

  • I'm an American and I think this is hilarious!

  • @LukaScepanovic1 you obviously have never been to Canada.

  • I'M AN AMERICAN! YA CAINT DO THIS TO MEH!

  • @marleylove05 Guess again. Bad ass. We are still paying for the stupid mistakes made then.................

  • @summer20105707 I am afraid I have to accept the methods in a modern context. Basic Human rights laws have not changed in a century in Canada. The methods used were backward and showed no value. Are you aware of the issues that still exsist with the native population due to the draconian ways used to quell this non issue? Reil was not as much a threat as our government was and still is today to the native population.

  • @reece45

I don't mean to be rude to you or anyone. But calling these pioneering recruits scum is unsubstantiated. Besides in the States you have your own share of respected legendary lawmen whose methods today would be considered barbaric. Wyattt Earp Elliot Ness etc. The mounties did what they were supposed to do. They brought law to our west.

  • @summer20105707 Not a claim, an oberservation. You won't find it in the mountie museum. Hit the books I am not in the business of educating others............
