  • Thank you for your comment! Yes, in a way, you are correct. However, the commands that I have listed are the New Testament commands of the Lord Jesus Christ. These commands may also be included under the two commands you have listed in Matthew. I believe Jesus was speaking of the Old Testament commands (law and prophets) in the Matthew Scriptures you mention.

Blessed are they that do His commandments, indeed!

  • I am so thankful for the Orthodox Christian Church which has alone preserved the faith once delivered to the saints down through the centuries since the beginning in 33 A.D. Had your interpretation been accurate, it would have surely been part of the Holy Tradition of the Orthodox Church. However, this just isn't so. You will also read in the Holy Scriptures of how (and why) the first century Christians were admonished not to impose the things you say upon the newly converted..

  • Very nice..powerful words..I love the Word of God!

  • Good recitation of Jesus' teachings, but He summarized the 10 coommandments in 2 - "“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40, If you keep these 2 commandments, you will keep all others and show the world you are His disciples.

  • It is a really good video and study brother Jim. Forgive me if i cause(d) any offense. Thanks for service to Him, irrespective of doctrinal leanings. I only took objection to the "which has alone preserved ." -- please pardon - maranatha

  • It is a pretty good sermon and study. Too bad if it is getting junked up with claims of special unique orthodoxy. God has lots of servants perserving the faith. This vid sounds like Scripture to me, which transcends any boasts made by any church or people.

    Jesus is coming. Period.
