Wrong.
The only problem with MJPEG is the size of the video files. But, Mjpeg is more versatile than MP4/H264, it need less power to decode, and, it's still the format used in proffesionnal montage...
MJPEG is just a suite of jpeg images, each image is independant from others, when H264/MP4 is a interpoled format with keyframes. The only benefit of H264 is the small file size, that's all..
Search on google, "Mjpeg VS H264", and learn.

all Pentax system needs is good silent focusing lenses. Lets hope that under new management they bring out some good glass.

A few incorrect facts thrown in there. Check Dpreview for correct weight and top iso level...

I shoot with a Pentax K20D and considered upgrading to the K5 but for that much money, I am getting close enough to the Sony A850 to just go ahead and move up to full frame. I like Pentax but it is not better than the other available brands and it seems to be less competitive now than two years ago. .. feels like a dead end path to me.

It appears to be a great little camera. I'm still using my several generation old Pentax K10D, but at some point this will be my next camera. The improvement from the K-7 ISO capability to the K-5 is the game breaker for me.
My favourite camera. Definitely better than the mainstream competition of consumer crap. Thank god Pentax places quality over quantity.

Nop, in fact, their cameras are top notch !
The only point D7000(e.g) can beat the K-5, is the AF in video mode, that's all (but, a pro videographer use only manual focus). Even AF, is disturing with the D7000, it gives a lot of out-of-focus images.(google : D7000 + out of focus).
The K-5 is the king of APS-c systems.
