Space Cab, by Kevin Quigley. 1997. An old Mac video game I used to play.
I remember finding it difficult when I was around 11 or 12. It seems pretty easy now, but still lots of fun. Not as polished as lots of games, but there's something about it that seems really evocative of the Mac shareware scene at that time.
Sadly, I think I remember hearing that the creator died a while ago. The game is now archived at http://www.macintoshgarden.org where you can also find out the best way to run it on modern systems. I ran it through Basilisk on OS 7.5.3, and recorded with iShowU. The frame rate is correct; this is the actual speed of the game and not a recording artefact.
I'd love to see a few more old Mac game recordings on YouTube.
This is one of the most awesome games I know!
I remember how hard and frustrating it can be reaching Pad 1 in the asteroid level.
