you can see traces of Liza in here, the movement of Judy's bottom lip to her left and the way the mouth forms, plus Liza has the same power in her voice but not the tone.Love this movie.
@damone77 there willbe no one ever like her, these stars today have it so easy, they don't know what hard work is, Judy did, she worked hard all her life
Well if you say so. I would have to give a close listen to each take/performance to argue any point. I guess it may be possible that she's singing quietly enough just to produce the throat jiggling effect and so on. All the takes are so awesome; I just love me some Judy:---)
@mikesterSTLMO, Judy is definitely lipping it here. Each take sounds the EXACT same with the same laugh, the same vocal rifts, etc. They are all identical because they have been pre-recorded. That doesn't take away from the magic. It is still her voice.
Just to clarify...Judy seldom sang live in the movies. She was an expert lip sycer. The one exception that comes to mind is Weill's/Anderson's "It Never was you". This was sung live and is sung to perfection, however that being said; you can hear the camera move. This is the reason it's always been a movie practice to prerecord tracks in order that the vocal maybe completely transparent.
You go Francis Gummmmm!

@damone77 Judy sang alone with it, to each and every take, to make it look real, she was a pro

Even if she is lip syncing, it's still her real voice on the recording. She is amazing anyways.
