i have the same slicer but green and the suction is broke but it works like a dream. i also use it for apple crisp but i use less sugar because i find it's better nice and tart. i also use granny smith for the natural sourness.

This is an apple crisp bcz of the oatmeal and nuts in addition 2 flour and butter/shortening, whereas crumble has pastry topping of flour and butter perhaps some sweetener.

We make this at home too, but we put Carnation Evaporated 2% milk on top, its wonderful and it tastes so good, brings all the flavours of the crisp out

@erochow Oh crap! Sorry, I accidentally voted "up" to the post about hating dogs, INSTEAD of the reply! If you hate dogs, you've never met very many! God knows, if you can tolerate people, you shouldn't have ANY trouble LOVING animals, especially dogs!
