2008 Incruit OSL Group A Sea v [Winner] Set 1 (P2/2)(Ro36)

Hey all,

This is the first group of the Round of 36 of the new Incruit OSL, and we're kicking it off with fights between a Terran, Zerg, and Protoss. The winner of Hyuk vs Pure will face Proleague star Sea, and only one will leave this group for the Round of 16. There's two cool new maps also. Hope you enjoy, and leave comments and suggestions!

Why the fuck didn't I think of rines into bcs? This opens up whole new avenues like mnbc, yamato rush, and 2 gas bcs + vessels. But seriously, wouldn't it make more sense to start with an SCV or bunker rush and move into late game wraiths and bcs (I guess with some bunkers for defence).  Or you could catch him off guard with a (cloaked?) wraith rush, then switch to bcs. But unupgraded rines without meds always suck, as do bc/wraith combos... you're basically screwed no matter what.

Haha, I know, I know. Before, they were playing me with vision on, so even cloaked wraiths didn't work! But now at least they don't have vision, so I go 1 base wall-in -> cloaked wraiths -> 2 base bcs. I'll put up a replay one of these days...

Pure would have beaten most other builds than 2 factory, which he thought was unlikely, because of the blocking eggs. A calculated risk, but he should have accepted that he couldn't win after he saw the 2 factory push coming.

Btw, cholera, I think that mass wraiths/wraith rush are good options for those games. And obviously big infantry drops.

My problem isn't with a 2-base carrier rush as a build. It's with the fact that Pure did not scout an expansion from Sea, saw the 2-factory push coming, and still committed to a carrier rush build, which is the weakest of any tech build for dealing with a push. I think even building one scout, then going for robotics facility / more gateways would've been better around the 7th minute of the game.
