This is an AmigaOne XE 800 Mhz, showing the Amicygnix Unix/X11 environment. Sample applications are Abiword word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet, Gimp image editor and Netsurf web browsing (very basic). Amicygnix is somewhat slow, but stable and quite usable.

  • What is this "Amicygnix Unix/X11 environment"?

  • Would you happen to have a copy of UBOOT 1.0.0 ISO?

  • WOW! What wonderful is AmigaOS!!!!

  • @HRHShawnPendragone has been banned for the following reasons:

    1) Posting lies such as AmigaOS4 "is msdos based, 8 bit, and can't multi-task", and that the Amiga hardware is an "old Mac clone".

    2) Accusing others of lying without saying what the lies are.

Also, for everyone's information, please don't use shorthand jibberish here. "u", "pos", "plz", etc.

  • @HRHShawnPendragone

Its slow because cywin is X-Windows wrapper running on top of AmigaOS graphics system, In other words is slow because graphic can't be rendered directly on then screen.

As for rest of comment what gives your a classic Amiga users way do need to talk bad about AmigaOS4 and up :-( what your saying is not even true.

  • thank you for showing this. I have never seen Gimp working on Amiga. AmiCygnx looks slower but at least something works well. Btw, how did you record Amiga screen? Video card and via PC or... Camera... or...?

  • I have a Samflex@800 running the same programs and can say I'm very happy with AmiCygnix to do some wordprocessing and spreadsheet work and be capable of using doc and xls docs...can't wait for OpenOffice and TimberWolf ports though :-)

  • Thanks for the demo of current Amiga office ablities, under CygniX
