not exactly. but it's both free and easy. Korg adds and actual synthesizer for melodies where GrooveStep is only a drum machine. but you can add your own samples to Groovestep so you can have FX samples too.

It wasnt at the time that I made the comment(4 months ago), they were trying to get licensed by nintendo as a commercial game.
