Ms. Nash did a good job on her kata. In Okinawan/Japanese Bujutsu they have internal(uchi) and external(soto) energy(ki). The Okinawan believe there is a source of your uchi ki just below the umbilicus; in Japanese it's called tanden. To call on this energy you need to control your breathing in and out the yelling by it's self does not effect the tanden. Bunka is the use of kata so when doing a kata think of it's bunka or application(mushin:no thought is the true aim).Thank you Osu

I've been only doing traditional Martial Arts for 30yrs and one of our 1st lessons was on respect of ourselves, so we are able to respect others. the funny thing here is, IT TAKES HARD WORK to look that good in a kata yet all the comments here are negative. You kihap like that in competition for emphasis and attention. I am willing to bet none of the people posting here can out perform her. Yes there is an over emphasis on all the technique, but that is ON PURPOSE. If a person can perform a kata this sharp and strong, they could also perform it the traditional way as well. Willing to bet most of you can barely teach a class.
