High anxiety and panic when flying is due to stress hormones released when imagining "what if the wings fall off, what if the engines quit, what if the pilot loses control,etc." Each "what if" triggers a stress hormone release. Several "what ifs" trigger several stress hormone releases, resulting in uncontrollable feelings. But there is a way - if preparation is done before taking a flight - to control your feelings.

@plangentmusic thank you, i could drive but its 22 hours and parents wouldnt let me.....
I hope i get used to it. and we have been dating 6 years so i sure hope it works but eentually i will just move in with him or vice versa..... fingers crossed.thanks

@thunderinthevalley Long distance relationships almost never work under the best of circumstances. Can you drive or is it overseas? Maybe you'll get so used to flying, you'll start to deal with it better. At any rate, best of luck.

@plangentmusic omg i know right i am so scared to fly i hate it every time i get on a plane i imagine it will crash ive flown lots before.... but still....soon i will be in a long distance relationship and the only way i can visit him is FLYING and idk what to do!!
