  • Of course, we do switch brains quite often. However, most people in our culture stay in their Left Brain more than their Right Brain. Much more. To increase the time you spend in your Right Brain, you must use your attention to shift. "Consistently" is not the word i would use to describe this changing of the brains. The good news is that we do have control over this switching, if we want to. Creativity is increased if you spend a lot of your time in your Right Brain.

  • Hello Sam, What a good idea. Looking in a mirror would certainly work. The only catch is that if you are in the middle of a business meeting and want to shift to creativity, you may not have a mirror ready. Your toe is always available. That's the beauty of it. Both brains are easily accessed. You just need to remember to do it.

  • Everyone,

The more i work with all the new inforamtion on the capabilities of the Right Brain, the more important it seems to me that you tap into it as often as you can remember. How about every time you look at your watch? As soon as you know the time, then place your attention inside your body for a minute or so. If you make this a habit, before long you will find that your creative problem solving has improved, your relatiosnhps are better and your life is closer to what you want.

  • Loverofnothingt00,

Maybe you are using both your brains. That's good. Dinvr er hsvve both, it's a good idea to put them in use.

  • Hello Jynx,

You're right. i know you are right, and i have spent most of my life defending Right Brained people against the logic and analysis of the Left Brained ones. This has left scars on my psyche that slip out when I am not noticing. The Left Brain is very useful, as I tell all my students. For me, the Right Brain is more fun to use. However, using both brains is the optimum way. That's why we have two brains, I suspect.

  • Ummm AFAIK even though the switching of the brain does occur technically and the left and right brains does communicate with each other in almost all of processes like motor message passing, language interpretation etc however some people are predominantly right brained(Average/Low IQ) while the left brain dominant people have a relatively higher IQ and not to sound skeptical but i don't think you can "switch" hemisphere usage like that? please explain ?

  • i love my right brian

  • your brain is consistently switching between left and right

  • its really funny once you get it, because you cant even feel the switch when your looking at a illusion but you can see it change right in front of you! internet i love you!!!!
