I think the Harptones, for me, epitomize classic doowop. There were many gtreat grous but none better. And this is my favorite of theirs. The original was on here for a while but seems to have been pulled. This performance is amazing.

This song sent chills all over my body. The setting, the tight harmonies in particular made this great doo wop song almost dream like and haunting but beautiful.

Yes Chicago Stadium. I was there 2nd. row stage right. TV special for PBS-Soundstage. Marty Pekar Ambient Sound Label. Filmed in early 80's. I have the whole show on tape. Also had The Capris,Jive Five,Mystics,Classics,Randy and The Rainbows. Strange how things happen. I've sang in The Ultimate Doo-Wop Shows with all of these groups with the exception of The Harptones. At that time was just a fan of this music and would dream about it.

Schrooms, Oops, I just put up this same video. When I searched to see if it was there, yours came up. The quality on yours is way better than the one I put up. There's a little bit of a lead-in to the song so I'm going to leave mine up (if ya don't mind) because some people like seeing the performers talking. BTW, this concert was at Chicago Stadium, late 1982.
