Maypo is a brand of maple-flavored oatmeal. It was developed by the Maltex Corporation in Burlington, Vermont in 1953. It was famous for its television commercials with the catchphrase, "I want my Maypo!" by Marky Maypo in 1956 by the Fletcher, Richards, Calkins & Holden Advertising Agency with the animation created by John Hubley. In the animated film "The Iron Giant", the Maypo commercial is seen when the Giant's hand is watching tv.

Maypo's television ads sometimes featured athletes--including Mickey Mantle, Wilt Chamberlain and Johnny Unitas--crying "I want my Maypo!"

This was produced in 1956 by John Hubley, former UPA animator/director who founded Storyboard, Inc. to produce commercials, industrial films and "experimental" animated shorts [including his Oscar-winning "Moonbird" (1959)]. Hubley's son Mark is the voice of "Marky Maypo".
