  • It's really cool to see the classic ways of doing the kata. That was at least one third the speed that we practice Sanchin at my school. That and several other things he did were very different. I don't know if either way is better or not. But both ways are pretty cool. I'll definitely have to come back to this for reference.

  • In my opinion, doing it faster would not make it the internal form it is meant to be. You wouldn't be developing your core muscles, nor the mental and physical harmony. I think too many schools are losing that, and therefore you get katas that are all about speed.

Glad you found it interesting. Make it a favorite so it's easy to find again.

  • Sensei Uezu excellant kata ! How are you doing? -Sensei Cherchio ISSHINSENSE ON YOUTUBE

  • @Lee7676 Sir

Kyokushin's Sanchin Kata is based on the Goju Ryu's Sanchin Kata. As you may know Mr. Oyama trained under Mr. Yamaguchi who trained under Mr. Miyagi. Sanchin Kata is a Naha Te kata and is not found (at least under the name Sanchi Kata) in Shuri Te styles but it maybe found in some Tamari Te styles. Thank you for your time. Osu

  • i watched diffrent karate styles doing sanchin kata.i trained kyokushin karate.i guess each karate style have there own types of sanchin kata

  • I agree. Going slower allows you to generate more tension throughout the body allowing for improved coordination when moving faster. Most people watching this video don't realize the karate master is tensing every single muscle as hard as possible throughout the movement. Powerlifters use the exact same principle to generate maximal strength in their lifts, only the karate master is imagining an external force while tensing as hard (as opposed to an external force the powerlifter experiences).

  • looks different than other sanchin katas from that system

  • Indeed. I might upload me doing the Sanchin kata as we typically practice it in class.

  • I understand, but he will get my message . Thanks.
