On March 31, 1989 headlines informed that Phobos 2, before losing contact, captured some strange photos of an unidentified object. Phobos 2 operated normally during its cruise phase, travelling the millions of miles from the Earth to Mars with no mechnical problems. It successfully gathered data about the Sun, Earth, Mars, and the interplanetary medium. On March 27, 1989, as it approached within 50 meters of the moon Phobos, it was set to drop a mobile "hopper" lander and a stationary platform. But just before doing so, contact was mysteriously lost.

@Thepool2go That was not very clear, sorry. I was questioning if they actually COULD switch it off. Why would they even built it that Maybe there is a more technical explanation because it sounds retarded the way they say it in this vid.

Space scientists are almost falling over themselves confirming water & oxygen existing almost everywhere they've looked. Japan's new HD pics and movies from the moon of earth show a lot of green yet the images are still digitally smudged. Clearly the surfaces of all space bodies are being obscured - Wall-Mart Cameras could do a better job - color too!

Funny cause L.Ron hubbard used to say that there was a large saucer patrolling between Mars and Jupiter which defends earth, or as he put it, prevents us from leaving the inner solar system. I mean was the guy nuts or what?
