Let's disect the footage and catch these rioting hooligans.http://www.facebook.com/pages/Vancouver-Riot-Pics-Post-Your-Photos/121837081234162

While this riot is unfortunate the predominately good citizens of Vancouver, B.C. cannot be blamed. I'm from Albany, NY-- USA and in my hometown, St. Patricks Day 2011 we suffered a riot of our own. The rioters were predominately collegiate transplants from downstate NY, meaning NYC , Long Island and the surrounding areas. Very few Albany residents were found to have partaken in any riotous activities. I believe that outcasts, anarchists and fair-weather fans were responsible for the bedlam that occurred in Vancouver on June 16, 2011. I come from a sympathetic perspective in regards to this Vancouver riot, as my hometown has been labeled as harboring the scum of the earth because of the actions of outsiders who don't truly represent the spirit of the community in which they are a part of.

  • Vancouverites always seem so calm and classy. I guess no one is above doing stuff like this. I know that hockey is important up there, but this just doesn't make sense to me. Many Vancouverites who were ashamed of the riots came back with "real fans don't riot", and thats absolutely true..however, I find that "people with perspective don't riot and cause mayhem, panic, and destruction over A GAME." is more accurate and appropriate. Absolutely disgusting.

  • Hockey is Canada's favorite thing and a Canadian team has not won the cup since mullets were socially acceptable (1993). Enough said

  • I agree with you on everything you have said, save one thing. I have seen no evidence of anarchists being involved with anything. Anarchists do not agree with nationalism or team sports, as a rule. Anarchism is a political philosophy that espouses egalitarianism. I am not an anarchist, but I think that Chief Chu is making a spurious claim. The anti-Olympic protests were an event that included many anarchists...but this event was almost its anti-thesis.

  • @BrennanGlynn I'm a Vancouverite and i'm proud to be but so ashamed of what's happened here please don't generalize us in fact I was there for the game watching it on a public screen, Everyone who was rioting was stoned to shit. There were people chanting smoking drugs and bc bud, many, these guys were not in their right minds and the people who were actually mad about the hockey game probably werent proud of what they did to their fellow canadians.

  • "If you listen to fools.......... the mob rules" - Ronnie James Dio.

  • Thank you Philly.... the insults being thrown back & forth makes me even more angry at the rioters for bringing this on us...so many people are lumping us all into the same canoe and saying that all Canadians react this way over losing a hockey game when it really wasn't about that. I highly doubt the rioters were really thinking about hockey when they were having so much 'fun' rioting and looting... I don't live in Vancouver but I love Vancouver. It is so sad to see the riot squad coming out.

  • I agree with the idea to post videos and pics to catch the people that was involve causing the bad image of Vancouver.
